Monster Hunter Now Incense—Bait/Lures Are Coming!

Wondering if there’s a Monster Hunter Now incense system? Like in Pokémon GO? It’s not currently in the game… But it could be coming soon, according to beta testers and leaks.

A Monster Hunter Now incense system was found in the code, according to MH Dataminer.

MH Dataminer’s information has been accurate before. We’ve previously reported them leaking new weapons and new monsters.

Their previous leaks have been proven true, with one of the upcoming, officially confirmed October events including the Pink Rathian.

What’s interesting is that ‘Baits’ are shown in the code as a separate category to pre-existing categories (consumables and materials). This could mean there could be different kind of baits, and it isn’t counted as a typical consumable in-game.

A beta player also said that the incense system was discussed on the beta forums—saying that it’ll be called a bait or lure. Aside from this and the initial leak, not much more is known about the system, or when it’ll come.

Whilst it’s not official confirmation from Niantic, it does show that an incense-like system is confirmed to be a coming feature.

What’s interesting is this system is being referred to as both, ‘lure’ and ‘bait’. In the mainline Monster Hunter games, bait and lures have been used for different things.

Baits in the mainline Monster Hunter games can be used to either poison or drug large monsters. Whilst lures can be used to lure specific monsters to hunt.

Adding in an incense system like Pokémon GO to Monster Hunter Now would be huge. Whilst there’s no date confirmed or official information, it’s a feature many fans have been asking for.
