Monster Hunter Now Dual Blades may have accidentally been leaked in a new email sent off by Niantic… In one of photos for the email, users have spotted the iconic dual blades next to the rest of the weapons currently available in the new mobile game.

Here’s the Monster Hunter Now Dual Blade image in question. It was attached to an email titled ‘Reinforce Your Equipment For The Hunt, Hunter!’

The Dual Blades are seen in the email, which is acting as a beginner’s guide to Monster Hunter Now’s arsenal of weapons. What’s interesting about this is the developer’s have said previously that they’d love to add in more weapons.

This was stated as part of the Q&A before launch, which we’ve translated here. The developers said they’d want to update the game regularly with new monsters, weapons, and weapon types.

Considering the popularity of Dual Blades in the main series’ games, it would be a no-brainer to make that one of the first weapons to add to Monster Hunter Now.

It would be fascinating to see how Niantic/Capcom end up implementing the weapon and the changes they make. Monster Hunter Now so far has been pretty faithful in replicating the Monster Hunter franchise’s gameplay, right down to the skilled-action combat and gear depth.

This could be a simple mistake… Or is it teasing a future update with an all-new weapon type? Considering the processes that were involved in creating the image/graphic, adding it to the email, and then sending out the email—there’s no way this is a simple oversight.

Monster Hunter Now will be at the Tokyo Game Show later this week, where we might hear news about future updates there! There’ll also be a Diablos Invasion event this coming weekend—Happy Hunting Everyone!
