The developer is planning to launch the WalkScape Closed Beta sometime between June and August this Summer. It’s inspired by RuneScape and others MMOs but with a “twist”, you progress by walking in the real world.

You can learn more about the game over on the official website, and also read up with interview with Massively OP. It’ll be launching on iOS and Android.

WalkScape is set in the World of Arenum, and you’ll passively progress + level up skills through walking in your day-to-day life. There’ll also be other activities, like combat, to do when you’re home.

The developer explains that their main inspiration for the combat system come from classic JRPG games like Final Fantasy, and Octopath Traveler.

If you’re looking for an alternative to Orna RPG, it’s worth keeping this on your radar. It also seems like this game prioritises actually getting outside and walking, compared to other AR titles.
