In Infection Free Zone, you’ll be taking charge of a settlement of survivors during a zombie apocalypse—the best part? You can choose ANYWHERE in the real world as your map/location.
Check out the gameplay overview for Infection Free Zone! You’ll even be able to scavenge and adapt real-life buildings.
“The Mad Virus” has spread throughout the world, turning humans into infected—zombie-like creatures that are highly-aggressive, fast, and strong…. And most importantly? Bloodthirsty.
Electricity, water, food—all resources are low. There are only a few survivors left in the world, and you’ll have to manage them. Where will you be rebuilding civilisation? That’s up to you.
Players will be able to type in the name of any real-life city or town, and use it as their game map! This is possible due to OpenStreetMap’s real-world data.
You’ll be able to even scavenge and adapt real buildings and places. So, keep an eye out for real buildings from your home town or notable landmarks!
Infection Free Zone is played like a simulation, strategy game. You’ll have to build up your settlement, fight off hordes of zombies, scavenge for materials—and sometimes even fight off other living humans, bandits.
This looks like the perfect use of augmented reality/utilizing real world maps and locations for gaming.
It’ll be coming out soon on Steam, and is being featured in Steam’s Next Fest – February 2023 Edition, which celebrates upcoming games with demos, livestreams, and more!
You can wishlist the game now on Steam, and check it out when it releases later this year. If you love thriller games, it’s also worth checking out Primal Hunt VR!
