Art for New Pokemon Go Social Features

The new social features will be added to the game over the next few months, whilst the other changes are happening more immediately.

You can read the full list of changes over on Niantic’s official Pokémon GO news post here.

These new features and changes are being met with a mixed reception. Whilst people are excited to be able to communicate with friends, the raid changes are being seen negatively.

Niantic will no longer include Remote Raid Passes in the 1 PokéCoin Event Boxes, which, as you can imagine—isn’t being taken well.

The new social features being added to Pokémon GO have been in testing for quite some time now for Niantic’s other game, Ingress.

Niantic’s new social and communication app.

You can read a full run-down on Niantic’s new social app here. This standalone app will help people communicate and coordinate across Niantic’s various games.

This should make it much easier to run and invite friends to Pokémon GO raids, and other events.

Are you excited about these changes and new features? It’s interesting to see Niantic evolving its games into an interconnected platform.

Niantic’s standalone app will also feature the ability to create and find local communities for their augmented reality games.

The company has also recently announced a new pet raising AR game, Peridot. To stay up to date with all things augmented reality gaming, follow us on Twitter or Instagram!
